SIDE PROYECT

Improvisation

Side proYect borns from the artistic collaboration between Paulo Fonseca Amendoeira (drums), Hortense Airault (cello), Martín Sanhueza Céspedes (electric guitar) and Mireia Pellisa Martín (saxophone). Conceived as a shared space for sonic experimentation and dialogue between instrumentalists, the collective turns free improvisation into a living and ever-evolving terrain, drawing inspiration from elements of contemporary music, noise and funk-rock while developing an intuitive and shared language.

At the heart of their approach lies a reflection on the processes of free improvisation, with a desire to democratize musical practice and create new contexts for expression. Aware of the ephemeral nature of this practice, side proYect seeks to establish spaces for reflection to analyze its conditions and challenges. The goal is to frame this fragile and spontaneous experience while highlighting its mechanisms and dynamics. The group aspires to a deep sonic exchange, enriched by the experiences of its members, and to the creation of worlds that reflect their artistic singularities.
